DOLAN oceanic buoy

ANIMATE and MERSEA projects.

In 2002 the station is included in the ANIMATE project, and the University of Kiel became responsible to place the first oceanic buoy in the station. It was composed of a DOLAN buoy acting as a physical support of the mooring and the meteorological instrumentation as well as being the platform for the satellite communications. This mooring includes several sensors which measure physical and chemical variables, i.e nutrients sensor, CO2, fluorescence and between 8 and 10 microcats.
